Career Development Programme
The Career Development Programme starts with an introduction, followed by four weekly workshops (one 2.5 hour session per week), which will provide you with an informational approach to your job search.
- Explorers - Creating your career narrative
Often an international move presents partners with the opportunity to re-examine their career and decide if they want to do something different. Perhaps a partner has taken a break from work to raise a family and now feels it is the right time to go back- or even pursue new projects and build their personal brand. Sometimes qualifications are not easily transferable to the UK and so spouses need to “tilt their hats” and look at how they may apply transferable skills to a different job and perhaps a 'portable career'. Using journalising techniques, self-reflection exercises and storytelling in a group setting, we’ll explore the possibilities of what you could do and how to market yourself in the UK.
- Fast-Trackers - Powerful career narratives to propel your career forward
Some partners know what they want to do, but need background knowledge of the UK job market and resources for networking opportunities to start moving forward in the job search process. Topics covered include guidance and information for CVs and Cover Letters, How-to for researching industry and recruitment, Interviewing, and Networking. Over the four weeks we utilise storytelling techniques to empower you to craft your marketing material and work toward a personal brand to help build confidence and demonstrate how you stand out in a competitive employment market.
The next Career Development Programme is scheduled for January and February 2018:
Introduction to Career Development Programme, 9 January 2018
