  • Job Workshops: These four 2-hour workshops provide you with an informational approach to finding the position or focus area you'd like to pursue, and provide structure, accountability, group support and motivation while increasing your circle of contacts. • Career Clinics: Free one-day seminar covering the essential guidelines for CV preparation, interviewing and networking are held throughout the year.
  • Career Seminars: Free programmes by professionals in the field on a broad range of topics that are of interest to job seekers are held periodically throughout the year.
  • One-to-One Coaching (subject to availability): Personalised service for those who want individual coaching and/or those who desire additional assistance following the Job Workshops is available upon request. These sessions are provided at a discounted rate.

Career Development Programme

The Career Development Programme starts with an introduction, followed by four weekly workshops (one 2.5 hour session per week), which will provide you with an informational approach to your job search.

  • Explorers - Creating your career narrative
Often an international move presents partners with the opportunity to re-examine their career and decide if they want to do something different. Perhaps a partner has taken a break from work to raise a family and now feels it is the right time to go back- or even pursue new projects and build their personal brand. Sometimes qualifications are not easily transferable to the UK and so spouses need to “tilt their hats” and look at how they may apply transferable skills to a different job and perhaps a 'portable career'. Using journalising techniques, self-reflection exercises and storytelling in a group setting, we’ll explore the possibilities of what you could do and how to market yourself in the UK.
  • Fast-Trackers - Powerful career narratives to propel your career forward
Some partners know what they want to do, but need background knowledge of the UK job market and resources for networking opportunities to start moving forward in the job search process. Topics covered include guidance and information for CVs and Cover Letters, How-to for researching industry and recruitment, Interviewing, and Networking. Over the four weeks we utilise storytelling techniques to empower you to craft your marketing material and work toward a personal brand to help build confidence and demonstrate how you stand out in a competitive employment market.

The next Career Development Programme will be on 11th September 2018, Introduction to Career Development Programme
